Join us as we explore being followers of Jesus in Ireland today.
This 6 part journey is designed and written by and for the Irish Church. We invite you to discover, reflect and respond to what it means to be sent by God, as disciples and as the church, to the world around us – reflecting on our specific context and culture.
Themes covered:
The God of Mission – His Love and Justice
The People of Mission – What does it mean to be a disciple and to be the church
The Arena of Mission – What’s our context and culture, what is Good News to those around us and what shape could mission take?
Responding to God’s love.
Mission does not start with us but begins with God and His love that is working to make all things new. His love is the source and shape of all mission that we are invited to participate in.
Following the example of Jesus.
Being a follower of Jesus is an invitation to be with Him and to participate in what he is doing in the world in our day to day lives.
God created the church as ‘a sign, a foretaste and an instrument’ – How do we cultivate community as a demonstration of God’s Kingdom?
Context and culture.
Growing in confidence that the gospel is actually good news for us and those around us – and finding words and ways to communicate that.
A posture for mission.
Looking at the interactions of Jesus to help us reflect on our posture in mission. How does the table act as an image of the way we interact with those around us.
Justice and Shalom.
In the end God has promised to make all things new. How do we as communities participate in what God is already doing now, particularly in relation to justice and shalom.
Seol Course Promo
We provide you with the video sessions, leaders guide and facilitator training. You run it over the course of 6 weeks or more with your church or group.
We recommend planning an extra session at the end to help the group identify what they have learnt and to plan some next steps together.
