DESCRIPTION:Forge Ireland has trained 40 people over 4 cohorts of the Forge Pioneering Course since 2019. This initiative started years ago in Australia by Alan Hirsch and now exists in Scotland\, England/Wales\, Sweden\, the US\, and Canada. \nThe course is a journey for those who sense that God might be leading them into creating new expressions of church. Through a combination of teaching\, mentoring\, and tasks\, our aim is to prepare people to launch into what God is calling them to do. Forge Ireland is led by active missional practitioners who are able to offer significant experiential training in pioneering contexts. It is more about the journey than the course itself. We want to see the Irish church flourish in new and creative ways! If you want to explore that with us and how you can lean into something new\, do join us! \nThis info night is very informal where practical details about the course will be shared and a lot of time spent on questions you and others have about Forge. DESCRIPTION:We are excited to gather this October. We hope to gather creatives\, pioneers\, entrepreneurs\, church leaders\, community leaders\, those working with the marginalised\, young adults\, women in leadership\, and more. On Friday\, each of these strands will meet to share\, eat\, and wrestle with a few missional questions together. Everyone is invited to a community meal on Friday evening then Saturday will be a mixture of keynote speakers\, a panel\, and the strands contributing to the wider conversation. DESCRIPTION:The Forge Pioneer Course is a leadership training and mentoring programme for those who sense that God might be leading them into creating new expressions of church. Through a combination of teaching\, mentoring and tasks\, our aim is to prepare people to launch into what God is calling them to do. SUMMARY:Calling Lab
DESCRIPTION:The idea of a believer’s calling has been discussed countless times over the centuries\, especially during these last few decades.\n\nThe Who am I? Postmodern worldview shapes much of our thinking and the Christian’s thoughts aren’t exempt. We\, especially those in their twenties\, often return to the question: “What was I made to do?” \nSo pervasive is this question\, some call it the quarter life crisis. Modern life inundates us with the “could do’s” and “should do’s” which are presented seemingly innocent by friends\, family\, and sometimes strangers. To make things even more difficult\, some of us make up our own agendas and obligations so overwhelmingly that we can feel pulled any which way. For others\, dreaming is more an estranged practice\, like trying to learn a foreign language. \nFortunately\, these questions and feeling of purpose aren’t outside God’s plan. In fact\, these longings and considerations come into our mind because they are a vestige of God’s original intention for humanity. \nWe see this most clearly as we survey the pages of scripture and notice the repeating theme of calling throughout the entirely of the bible. Our task is to take these questions and come to understand them in light of God’s direction and plan. This is where the Calling Lab comes in.
