SUMMARY:Online Retreat - Come to the Table
DESCRIPTION:We want to offer a spiritual retreat time to those who might be feeling weary\, worn down and wanting a bit of space. \nWe have asked 3 Spiritual Directors/Retreat Facilitators to guide you through this time over Zoom; there will be a mixture of self reflection\, music\, Bible reading\, small group sharing & more. \nThis online retreat is facilitated by Pauline Wilson who has worked alongside her husband\, Alan\, in pastoral ministry for 21 years (17 in Switzerland and 4 in N.Ireland) before training as a biblical counsellor. She now divides her time between providing counselling and facilitating retreats. She loves the privilege of seeing God at work. In her spare time\, she enjoys cooking\, gardening\, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. \nRetreat Details: \nEaster can just sneak up on us and before we know it\, it’s Easter Sunday and we are swept along into all the celebrations of the resurrection. \nWhy not take a half-day to prepare yourself for Easter\, by joining us on our ‘Come to the table’ retreat? \nWe will be thinking about three tables: \n\nking David’s table\, with the extravagant invitation to eat at the king’s table ‘as one of the king’s sons’ (II Samuel 9).\nthe bird table\, with the beautiful invitation to ‘Consider the birds of the air’ (Luke 12).\nthe Lord’s table\, with the gracious invitation to ‘Do this\, in remembrance of Me’ (I Corinthians 11).\n\nAll three invitations are reminders of the grace which we are being offered\, as children of the King. \nCome and join us as take this journey together! \nMy main takeaway from the retreat was the progression towards the Lord. I loved that we started with how privileged we are to be able to sit at the king’s table; then how the bird table teaches us that\, just as God provides for the birds\, so too we can trust in his provision and his permission to be at the table; and then ending with communion at the Lord’s table was a lovely end to a reflective day. –previous participant \nBook your spot here\n  \n

SUMMARY:Forge Course - Taster Session
DESCRIPTION:The Forge Pioneer Course is a leadership training and mentoring programme for those who sense that God might be leading them into creating new expressions of church. SUMMARY:Online Retreat - Finding Light within Darkness
\nThe theme for this retreat is Finding Light within the Darkness.\nOne of the best advices that I have received in the last few years has been: “Go for the light not the darkness”. \nWhat does it mean to go for the light in our own lives and in the lives of others? What does it mean to see us not according to what we think we should be but according to how God sees us? \nThis will be a mini-retreat\, a taster\, the intention is to plant a seed that might grow within each one of us even after we finish meeting. \nWe will do this by looking at one very well known Psalm: 139 and some of Jesus’ encounters with different people. How Jesus never looked at people for what they were not but for what or who they could become under his leadership. \nThis is an invitation to a journey on transformation. \n\n19:30 Welcome and personal introductions\n19:40 Coming home to ourselves\n19:50 Meditative reading of John 1:35-39\n20:10 Psalm 139 – Finding light within ourselves (input & questions)\n20:30 Sharing time\n20:45 What light can show us. A reflection on Rembrandt’s painting of the return of the prodigal son\n21:00 Responding to the light\n21:15/21:30 What do we take away? A final prayer\n\nThis online retreat is facilitated by Ana Mullan.\nShe was born in Argentina and is married to Seán and she has been living in Ireland for 37 years. Involved in church planting and church leadership for 22 years in Cork and Dublin. The last 10 she’s been partly involved in a social enterprise called Third Space in Dublin. She has a BA in Applied Theology from Irish Bible Institute and Diploma in Spiritual direction from Milltown Institute. At the moment she is also training on how to give the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola for people who are eager to go deeper with God\, a tool that has been extremely powerful in her own life. She is also an abstract artist\, expressing her inner journey through colour and also using art as a medium to help others get closer to God. She is the mother of three adult children & grandmother to three gorgeous girls. Her favourite statement to live by is: “The glory of God is a human being fully alive.” (Irenaeus) \nBook your spot here!

SUMMARY:Building a Rhythm of Prayer in your Church
DESCRIPTION:This lent we are asking what rhythm of prayer will your church/community engage with? Want to learn more about where to start?\n\nDuring the pandemic many churches and communities were praying like they never had before. As we emerge from the past two years how do we keep prayer at the centre of all that we do?\nJoin us for an online seminar to explore building a rhythm of prayer in the life of your church. Together we will reflect on how we can discover the practices that will serve us and the church in this new season. \nHear from others who have been praying 24-7 since the beginning of lockdown; who never imagined they would be able to sustain it and from others who discovered the gift of daily prayer in their community. Perhaps you feel stuck in the same approach to prayer and want to explore new ways to pray as a church – never tried a prayer room – sign up to learn where to start. \nBook your spot free here

SUMMARY:Online Retreat - Living with Curiosity & Compassion
DESCRIPTION:We want to offer a spiritual retreat time to those who might be feeling weary\, worn down and wanting a bit of space. \nWe have asked 3 Spiritual Directors/Retreat Facilitators to guide you through this time over Zoom; there will be a mixture of self reflection\, music\, Bible reading\, small group sharing & more. \nThe theme for this retreat is Living with Curiosity & Compassion: The Story of Blind Bartimaus. \nIt is facilitated by Catherine Carey RGN\, RM\, HDip Public health\, MA Science\, Dip. Spirituality. She is a contemplative in action\, a pilgrim learning to live in the present moment and experience the revelation of God in daily life. Along with her husband Fergus she leads a small missional community of believers. With a strong focus on community\, she volunteers with social justice projects in the city and runs the Dublin healing rooms. Originally from Limerick\, Catherine has lived in Dublin since 1991. She has four adult children and four granddaughters. After a decade at home when her children were little\, she then spent 25 years in public health nursing. Following early retirement\, she has time to focus on her ministry as a spiritual director and lead guided Scriptural meditations with groups and run retreats. Over lockdown Catherine has enjoyed long walks in nature\, hours of reading and regular sea swims but has missed being with family and sharing meals with friends. \nOption for 30min Spiritual Direction in the afternoon (book in advance\, limited spaces) \nMore details on the retreat format to come. \nBook your spot here!

SUMMARY:Growing a Discipleship Culture Learning Cohort (4 of 4)
DESCRIPTION:Dallas Willard once asked: \n“Do we have a plan for making disciples? And secondly does our plan work?” \nThese questions are still incredibly relevant.\nDiscipleship is at the core of what the church is about but yet many of us struggle to know what to do and how to do discipleship well. SUMMARY:New Forge Course Begins
DESCRIPTION:Visit Forge Ireland’s website\, here\, for full information.\nTRAINING\n\n\nFor the 2021-22 course we are exploring a hybrid of online\, in-person and residential training. Our training will primarily be delivered through 3 Hubs: Belfast\, Dublin\, & Online. \n\n\n\n\n\nThroughout the year we’ll meet in these Hubs for training days. These will be a mixture of onscreen and in-person teaching and breakout conversations. We’d suggest that you make every effort to join your nearest geographical Hub but there is also an online option. All 3 Hubs will come together for a January residential weekend.\n\n\n\n\n\nCOURSE THEMES\n\n\nThe course covers 5 main areas: \n\nPersonal spiritual development\nLiving a missional lifestyle\nChurch in today’s culture\nBuilding a discipleship culture\nMissional leadership\n\n\n\nPERSONAL STUDY\n\n\nIt is expected that each participant will put in a minimum of 3 hours per week of personal study and reflection. Alongside recommended reading to accompany the training\, there are also tasks and reflective writing pieces set between the training dates. \n\n\nMISSIONAL CONTEXT\n\n\nForge exists to help practitioners learn on the job and so it is expected that you will have a missional context where you are applying your learning throughout the course. The missional context will be clarified and agreed with each participant at the start of the course.

SUMMARY:Prayer Gathering - Pray Your 5k
DESCRIPTION:Over Lent\, we have encouraged people to pray their 5k. This evening gathering is to bring us altogether as Lent finishes up and we can celebrate and pray with one another.  We will gather from 7.30-8.30pm over Zoom. All are welcomed\, not just those who prayed their 5k during Lent. There will be a time of lament\, praying for Ireland\, young people & churches. \n  \nThe past year has taken its toll on individuals\, families\, communities\, schools\, businesses – and this most recent lockdown has been extremely challenging. \nThe life of the church has also been massively impacted and there are many things we can’t do at the moment but over lent we want to invite you to join us in doing something we all can do-   a prayer initiative – PRAY YOUR 5K. \nFor many of us walking has become part of our daily routine – wouldn’t it be amazing if every street within each of our 5km restriction was prayed over as we walk. \nIt’s a pretty simple idea – \n1. Map out your 5km area.\n2. Plan to walk a different route each day or however often you walk each week.\n3. One option is to designate a day each week that as a church you will walk.\n4. Invite a friend to join you or someone from another local church community .\n5. Pray as you walk – pray over the families\, businesses\, organisations\, schools\, charities\, medical practices etc. in your community. Check out the Praxis website for a simple guide on prayer walking if you aren’t sure how to start. \nWe’d love to hear from you and names of all the streets across the country that have been prayer walked. Or post it on social media with #prayyour5k \n  \nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/83158787099?pwd=UytDcVhqb095TGlaUXRHS3hBek5sZz09 \nMeeting ID: 831 5878 7099\nPasscode: 134286
