SUMMARY:Feedback from the Fourth Lausanne Congress
DESCRIPTION:Morning Conference at Belfast School of Theology \n1st May 2025 9.30am – 12.30pm \nIn September last year\, more than 5000 global church and mission leaders gathered in Seoul\, South Korea\, for the fourth Lausanne Congress. Lausanne creates a space for world church and mission leaders to connect and learn about what God is doing around the world and engage in meaningful dialogue\, prayer and collaboration. \nIn 2024 Lausanne published a key report – The State of the Great Commission which identified over 20 significant gaps in evangelism and outreach still to be addressed in a meaningful way as the whole church brings the whole gospel to the whole world. During the Congress many discussions took place to address these gaps as well as several keynote talks which gave insight into some of the biggest issues and questions those in the church are wrestling with. \nAt this morning conference\, facilitated by MAP and supported by Belfast School of Theology and the Evangelical Alliance Northern Ireland\, we will hear from some local delegates who attended the Congress\, Laura Sanlon (Lausanne and Latin Link)\, Uel Marrs (Global Mission Council\, Presbyterian Church in Ireland)\, Anne Baenziger (Praxis Movement\, Ireland) and David McCullagh (Annalong Presbyterian Church) \nWe will consider some of the gaps identified by the State of the Great Commission Report and discuss together how we can best respond both locally and globally in our church and ministry/mission contexts. DESCRIPTION:In the summer of 2023\, a team from Vox\, Tearfund Ireland\, and Praxis crafted a survey for 18-40 year olds living in Ireland. It gathered perspectives and experiences of young adults and faith\, church\, and mission. The desire was to gain insights\, stories\, and hear from the younger generation – so now it’s time to share it! Come along to an evening of presentation\, discussion\, practical steps forward\, and more. \nThis report documents the perspectives of young adults from across Ireland (561 took part) including both Millennials and Generation Z. \nOur aims were to: \n\nListen to the views of young adults about faith and life.\nFind out why some have left that church and others remain passionate about their faith.\nWhat is important to young adults and how this could shape the church of the future.\nIn partnership with Tearfund Ireland\, to explore views on climate change as part of an international survey of young adults.\n\nThe team has members from 24/7 Prayer Ireland\, Innovista Ireland\, Scripture Union Ireland\, various denominations\, and more. \nBook in here\nRead more about the Survey Report here

We hope to gather creatives\, pioneers\, entrepreneurs\, church leaders\, community leaders\, those working with the marginalised\, young adults\, women in leadership\, and more. On Friday\, each of these strands will meet to share\, eat\, and wrestle with a few missional questions together. Everyone is invited to a community meal on Friday evening then Saturday will be a mixture of keynote speakers\, a panel\, and the strands contributing to the wider conversation. What new forms of leadership does it require?\nWhat would it look like to see enterprises & businesses develop that are centered on participating in the redemptive activity of God’s kingdom?\nPraxis is delighted to host a morning with Ralph Gatti (see bio below) who will share his intriguing & inspiring story of how he is starting\, leading & supporting different impact enterprises throughout Europe. His 40-plus years of business experience includes 18 years as the CEO of an automotive aftermarket products manufacturing company and ownership\, board\, and consulting positions with a number of for-profit businesses and non-profit organisations. For over 40 years\, Ralph has had an active involvement in the development of the Akron\, Ohio community through supporting its faith-based organisations and their key leaders. Internationally\, for the past 16 years\, Ralph has specialized in consulting on strategic planning\, organizational development\, and mentoring executives\, with a particular emphasis on younger leaders of impact enterprises in Bulgaria\, Croatia\, Slovakia\, Hungary\, Romania\, and Albania.
